This copy was signed by Heaney on the title page, at the book's launch at the 2002 Edinburgh Festival.

Parallel Gaelic text, with Heaney's English translation on facing pages. Named after a depopulated township on the Hebridean island of Raasay (the Scottish poet's birthplace), it is a reflection on the passage of time and the historical impact of the Highland Clearances. According to the publisher, Heaney "has been a huge admirer of Sorley MacLean for many years and felt that Sorley should have been awarded the Nobel Prize."
