Limited first edition. Broadsheet folded. [21 x 33 cm fold. to 21 x 11 cm]. White wove paper printed in red and black. 1/250 copies printed. The first of the Sycamore broadsheets. Some copies distributed in an envelope containing Sycamore Broadsheets 1 to 12, with other poets in the series including Thom Gunn, Alan Brownjohn, and Gavin Ewart.
A couple of transverse creases, otherwise Fine.
"I pray that any nuclear war/ Will be deferred till after the/ Diminutive requirement for/ My coming book of poesy." Poet's fears of nuclear annihilation, here gave birth to this poem about American and Korean armies arranged against each other, along the 36th parallel. Professor of Poetry at Oxford University from 1968 to 1973, Fuller was awarded the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry in 1970 and the Cholmondeley Award from the Society of Authors in 1980.
