Includes "The Swimmer" (first conceived as a novel, with approximately 150 pages assembled), the basis for the 1968 film starring Burt Lancaster, directed by Frank Perry and Sydney Pollack (uncredited). Cheever was a frequent visitor to the set in Westport, Connecticut, and makes a cameo appearance in the movie.
