Board edges partially discoloured, some off-setting to endpapers; dustwrapper moderately soiled, tanned to spine, chipped to extremities, else Very Good.
Author's doctoral thesis that expanded to become the first substantial study of Modern Greek poetry to be published in English. Featured poets include: Dionysios Solomos, Costis Palamas, Constantine Cavafis, Anghelos Sikelianos, and George Seferis. Subsequently, as a double act with Edmund Keeley, their close collaborations introducing Modern Greek poetry to English-speaking readers helped pave the way for the Nobel prizes awarded to both George Seferis (1963) and Odysseus Elytis (1979).
