According to Rowling's bibliographer, Philip W. Errington, 'anomalies in the printing', such as 'bo ', instead of 'boy' on the ninth line of text on page [7] of some copies (not present here), 'cannot be regarded as issue points but rather as minor errors in book production on an unprecedented scale'.

Named an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults in 2003. Shortlisted for the 2004 Prometheus Award (Libertarian Science Fiction).
