A love triangle set in Shanghai and focussed on the desperate quest for the missing pages of an early 19th-century Chinese manuscript, which uncannily mirrors the present travails of the lovers. Currently Professor of English and Creative Writing at Adelaide and Bath Spa Universities, Jose has written widely on contemporary art and literature from the Asia and Pacific region.
