Third in the Phoenix Pamphlet Poets Press series, published by the legendary, late Mancunian bookseller, Eric Morten, following Glyn Hughes' Love on the Moor and Michael Longley's Secret Marriages, issued the preceding year. Heaney's third separate publication, it formed part of his second poetry collection, Door into the Dark, published with revisions later in the same year.

An absolutely superb copy of an increasingly scarce early Heaney item.
