One of three inaugural titles to be published by this independent imprint, the others being Selected Poems by James Reeves and The Saipan Elegy by James Grady. Always run on a shoestring, A&B was taken over by WH Allen in 1987.
A renowned botanist, besides, Houston was awarded the Linnean Society's 2012 H. H. Bloomer medal in recognition of her contribution to the body of knowledge of Avon Gorge flora and British whitebeams. Houston's whitebeam (Karpatiosorbus houstoniae), a rare hybrid between the common and the Bristol whitebeams, was named after her, following its discovery by the author on a cliff of the Avon Gorge in 2005.
