A collection of short stories about a legendary Australian sheepdog, immortalised by a bronze statue outside the town of Dampier in outback Western Australia. Inspired by a late 1990's visit to the area by the author as a guest of honour in its first ever literary dinner: "I felt straight away that I had to find out more about this splendid dog... and spent two glorious weeks driving around collecting Red Dog stories and visiting the places that he knew". "De Bernières's short, very sweet 'biography' of a highly engaging animal is a particular treat." –The Observer
